negative-source

NOTE(coined-term): This is a term coined by myself.

Softwares that are written only available to the creator (or a small group of people the creator chooses) and would be completely unavailable anywhere after a certain point in time (e.g. after the death of the original creator). This is not the same as "proprietary softwares", a lot of which are often available to the general with a fee. For example, if I made a CJK IME for 9front but due to how I dislike the community I choose to not release the source code and the binary file, it would become totally unavailable if I died from a car accident and my machine subsequently went through a recycler who's responsible enough to wipe the entire drive; this would render this CJK IME a negative source software.
